Luigi Pulgas-Lataste is a digital artist and photographer from Lot-et-Garonne, where he was born and raised until the age of 19, when he moved to Bordeaux. His passion for images, particularly cinema, pushed him to become interested in photography at the age of 14. He started by capturing the things around him, but he quickly fell in love with this art with its many possibilities.
Luigi learned photography as he spent time photographing. Initially, he photographed to satisfy his desire for cinema, but his passion for photography took over. Even after nine years of practice, he continues to learn and explore new techniques and styles.
Luigi developed a particular passion for black and white photography, contemplative and architectural photography. Later he became interested in photomontage, collage and other digital processing techniques. He finds great satisfaction in capturing the present moment, because it creates memories and maintains a sort of memory. His “contemplative” photography focuses on scenes from everyday life, capturing people on the street as they simply live. This is what he prefers to photograph. He also appreciates landscape photography, particularly urban landscapes, which have been the subject of his series of photographs entitled "Metropolis" since 2015.
Luigi draws inspiration from renowned photographers such as Robert Doisneau, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Gerhard Richter, Rupert Vandervell, Jeanloup Sieff, Vivian Maier and Martin Parr. Through his photos, he seeks to arouse nostalgia in the viewer, to remind them of moments of life that they could have experienced or not. He wants his photos to make the viewer feel timeless and unique emotions, thus creating memories frozen in time.
