Nathalie Hurtier nait en 1961 à Paris.
En 1979, elle entre à l’école d’architecture Paris-la-Seine hébergée aux Beaux-Arts de Paris (ENSBA) une immersion dans un pluralisme artistique.
Après l’obtention de son diplôme, elle exerce durant quinze ans au sein de structures tant privées que publiques.
En 2000, elle démissionne de ses fonctions pour se consacrer à la sculpture.
Dès lors le papier (et surtout le papier journal) dont elle va très vite bousculer l’usage et le travail traditionnel en lui substituant le travail à sec par torsion-compression en strates successives, s’impose comme le matériau principal de ses créations.
Ses œuvres révèlent un travail en suspension, fragile équilibre de la vie en mouvement, une architecture de lignes traçant des chemins où l’imaginaire ouvre ses portes et aux détours desquels de majestueux gardiens de l’esprit écument l’océan de nos lointains souvenirs disparus.
Des expositions en France et des acquisitions privées jalonnent ce parcours.
